An IPL game to commemorate the past produced a glimpse of the future instead as Yashasvi Jaiswal hit the most amazing hundred for Rajasthan Royals against his hometown franchise Mumbai Indians. And for 35.4 overs it looked like he would end up on the winning side.

But a quirk of T20 cricket is that it can often be decided by the guy who doesn't spend a lot of time in the middle. Tim David faced only 14 balls. But that was still enough for him to change the course of history. A 200-plus total was chased down for the first time in the IPL at the Wankhede Stadium, and at the centre of it was this man who muscled three back-to-back sixes off three back-to-back full tosses from Jason Holder in the final over.

You gotta give it to the IPL. It knows how to throw a 1000th birthday party.
